Way 2 Soon Buffalo Bills Game Predictions

ChatterBuffalo

Updated: May 10, 2020

NFL schedule is out! This article is based on the theory that the NFL will start on time. First before we start. A few roster changes can and will change my predictions. Hence the ''Way to Soon” in the headline. Also, this isn't meant to be completely serious. I took current rosters with previous results to form an opinion for each game. Wait one more thing. Christian Wade should not and will not make the team. So, don't ask. Now on to the schedule!

·

Week 1. New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills

The Ralph aka New Era Field is pumping with alcohol induced Bills Mafia fans.  New year, new hope for both teams. Buffalo is getting a lot of off-season love, kind of like the Jets from 2019.  Jets did not live up to that hype. Will Buffalo and New York switch roles in 2020? I cannot deny, Jets have talent. Starts with Le’Veon Bell. Lucky for Buffalo, Gase is an idiot. Terrible hire by the Jets. Bell might get going this week only because it is week one, and Sam Darnold keeps throwing him easy swing passes, in which Bell turns into 15-yard gains. Jets lost Robbie Anderson and replaced him with Breshad Perriman, which I think is a good switch for New York. Week 1 Jets out play Buffalo. Josh Allen is still trying to get on same page with Stephon Diggs. Diggs has one TD, but not much after that. Singletary is only bright spot on Bills offense, but it is not enough. Jets over power Bills with lucky win, reminiscent of week one of 2019 for Buffalo. Jets win 24-17. Jets team to beat in AFC East? Buffalo Record 0-1

· Week 2. Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins

Dolphins quietly added some talent through plenty of draft picks and some key free agents. The “Tank for Tua” scheme worked despite Ryan Fitzpatrick best efforts. Still a year or two away from being a contender. The 1st meeting is with Fitzmagic at QB. He starts out hot, with 3 touchdowns in 1st half, only to throw an interception the in the 4th quarter. Buffalo hangs around long enough to pick off Fitz and end the magic carpet ride. After each interception Buffalo scores a touchdown to end up winning. Buffalo wins 28-24. Buffalo Record 1-1.

· Week 3. Los Angeles Rams @ Buffalo Bills

Los Angeles Rams have been on a bit of downfall since their embarrassing super Bowl loss to the Evil Empire. I believe they took the league by surprise, and now everyone has them figured out. Add the loss of Todd Gurley, who in his prime was a stud. Nagging Knee issues seems to have slowed him down lately. Rams drafted Cam Akers, to potentially take over that workhorse role. They also have 2nd year back Darrell Henderson who did little to impress in his rookie season. Jared Goff just does not impress me. The Bills will be all over him, causing at least 2 turnovers, and scoring a touchdown of their own. Now LA still has the best DT in the game in Aaron Donald. He will make a few plays I'm sure. It won't be enough. With the Buffalo defensive touchdown, and good games coming from John Brown and Diggs. Bills win. 24-13. Buffalo Record 2-1.

· Week 4. Buffalo Bills @ Las Vegas Raiders

Despite being in Las Vegas, Buffalo somehow holds their composure, and nobody ends up arrested the night before. Part of the process I’m sure. Newly acquired QB Marcus Mariota takes over the starting job early over Derek Carr. He finds Jason Witten in the RedZone for his one and only TD of the game. Buffalo contains Mariota and has a firm grasp of the game, controlling the line of scrimmage all day. Josh Allen has an average day with great games from his running backs Moss/Singletary, the 2 headed monster. Bills win 27-7. Buffalo Record 3-1.

· Week 5. Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans

Tennessee made a run last year. (Lucky) This year isn’t going to be similar. Tannehill has become less reliable, and Derick Henry can only do so much. Losing Dion Lewis, their slash running back was a bigger loss than the Titans anticipated. With this game basically being a home game for Buffalo, due to the invasion of Bills Mafia fans entering Nashville. (Great City). Buffalo will shut down the run game. Making the Titans rely on their passing attack. Not a situation Tennessee wants to be in. Ryan cannot handle the heat. A.J. Epenesa has his breakout game with 2 sacks, a tipped ball and 2 tackles for loss. Bills offense struggles establishing the run game themselves. Relying on Allen to Beasley as their main form of transportation. Beasley catches 8 and a TD. Tre White seals victory with a late 4th quarter interception. Buffalo wins. 10-3. Buffalo Record 4-1.

· Week 6. Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills (TNF)

New Era Field will be electric for this game. Knocking off the defending Super Bowl Champions is a huge step in the Buffalo process of becoming winners! K.C. Drafted LSU stud running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire to add even more fire power to their explosive offense. Along with a tackle from TCU, Lucas Niang. If the Chiefs can get the running game to take over games, they will be scary good. Typically, not a lot of teams can get behind this great safety duo of Micah Hyde, and Jordan Poyer. But, when K.C.  really gets the run game humming, Hyde, and Poyer get caught peeking inside. Mecole Hardmen sneaks behind them for the game winning TD late in the 4th quarter. A high scoring game, with Josh Allen having the ball last, and needing a touchdown. Buffalo can’t put the ball in the endzone before time expires. Chiefs wins 35-31. Buffalo Record 4-2.

· Week 7. Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets

Buffalo and New York Jets are both having good seasons. Good teams fighting to take over the AFC East post Tom Brady. Two quarterbacks taken in th

e same draft class. Which front office was right? A rivalry in the making if you ask me. Buffalo lost week 1. Second time around Buffalo figured out how to move the ball against the Jets. Beasley once again is creating separation, and he totaled 10 catches for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns. Buffalo shut down Bell early and made New York one dimensional. Sam Darnold cannot thrive in that situation and the Buffalo front line on defense made Sam Darnolds day miserable. Hughes and Oliver took over at the end of the game causing Darnold to see ghosts once again. Buffalo wins 24-13. Buffalo Record 5-2

· Week 8. New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills

· Tom Brady is gone! I’ll say it again, Tom Brady is gone! O it feels so good! However, Bill Belichick still resides on that sideline. What does he have up his cut off sweatshirt sleeves? Are the Patriots tanking for Trevor Lawrence? I personally think they are. For now, Jarrett Stidham steps in as the heir apparent to Tom Brady. Surrounded with next to nothing, he struggles. Unless N'Keal Harry really steps his game up, creating more space for Edelman, I just don’t see them moving the ball very well. We can’t dismiss how good their defense was last year. This might keep them hanging around in games which is the last thing you want to do against a Bill Belichick coached team. This game will appear closer on the scoreboard then it really was. Josh Allen will have the only 2 Touchdowns, on the ground. Establishing an early lead. A lead they wouldn’t give up. Bills win 20-10. Buffalo Record 6-2.

· Week 9. Seattle Seahawks @ Buffalo Bills

With Seattle still not signing Jadeveon Clowney, and letting the Bills take Quinton Jefferson off that D-line, could leave the trenches a little bit to be desired. With that in mind, Buffalo will control the game with a good run game behind Singletary and Moss. Along with solid Defensive play. However, I don’t think it will be enough. Russell Wilson is one of the best in the game. He will find a way to win this game, even though Buffalo looks like the better team. It will be a grind it out type of game. Moss and Singletary combine for 150 yards on the ground, while Josh and the passing game do the same. Not enough big plays from Buffalo Bills offense, and 1 to many big plays from Russell Wilson. Seattle wins. 20-17. Buffalo Record 6-3.

· Week 10. Buffalo Bills @ Arizona Cardinals

Think it is safe to say Arizona got the deal of the century. Receiving one of the best wide receivers in the game, for a running back who did nothing for them last year and 2nd round pick. Yes, David Johnson still has potential if you ask me. However, Deandre Hopkins is a bigger threat to me. I still am not sure about Kyler Murray. Plus, Tre White will handle Hopkins. Old man Larry Fitz is still hanging around catching 100 balls a year, but he poses no threat this week. Josh Allen will have a good game with over 300 yards passing. Stefon Diggs finally breaks out with 112 yards and 2 Touchdowns. Dawson Knox, who is having a solid sophomore year, snagged a touchdown as well.  Bills Win. 31-14. Buffalo Record 7-3

· Week 11. Bye. Great time for a bye halfway through season. Hopefully the Jets and Patriots lose!

· Week 12. Los Angeles Chargers @ Buffalo Bills

I’m going to assume by now Tyrod Taylor lost his job. I loved Tyrod while he was here, class act. Chargers have 1st round draft pick, QB Justin Herbert from Oregon starting against Buffalo. I see lots of check downs, and screens to Austin Ekeler. With Buffalo containing Keenan Allen. On defense Joey Bosa will do his thing. Along with new Corner Chris Harris doing a decent job on Diggs. Still won't be enough. Knox and Singletary have a game, with a couple solid screens for big yards.  Buffalo starts fast with a short passing game and few deep balls to Brown, then finish off the Chargers with the new hot running back duo of Moss/Singletary. Bills win. 27-6. Buffalo Record 8-3

· Week 13. Buffalo Bills @ San Francisco 49era. (MNF)

The 49ers are still very solid coming off the super bowl loss to the Chiefs. San Fran drafted a DT Javon Kinlaw from South Carolina, to help make that strong D-line even better, potentially. On paper this looks like a low scoring game. The 9ers also drafted a receiver in round 1 to help fill the hole Emanual Sanders left. I don't think the rookiewide receivercan quit get that done. Leaving nobody to make big plays for the 49ers, besides George Kittle. I believe the Bills front four will shut down that big run game San Fran can usually force down their opponent’s throats. Not today. The Buffalo Bills just make a couple bigger plays. Moss breaks a long TD, and Stefon Diggshas a breakout game with over 100 yards, 7 catches and a TD.Bills win. 14-13. Buffalo Record 9-3

· Week 14. Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills (SNF)

Buffalo finally gets a home Sunday Night Game. Careful Pittsburgh fans, it is going to be cold. Bills Mafia will start drinking at 7am to “stay warm”. The Tailgate will be legendary! Pittsburgh is relying on an out shape legendary QB for one more run. Big Ben still has magic in that arm and can put up some points on this tough Buffalo defense. Eric Ebron, their new tight end does what he does best, score Touchdowns. He snags 2 along with Rookie wide receiver Chase Claypool who beats Josh Norman on a simple fade route for 6. The entire broadcast all we here about is J.J. Watt somehow even though he is not playing thanks to his brother T.J. T.J. helps as Pittsburgh defense does a serviceable job, holding the Bills under 300 total yards. The Steelers put together a complete game and Buffalo disappoints on SNF. Steelers win 34-17. Buffalo Record 9-4

· Week 15. Buffalo Bills @ Denver Broncos (Time TBD)

Another possible night game? Broncos added some key offen

sive weapons over the off season to help 2nd year pro Drew Lock. Melvin Gordon paired with Philip Lindsay is on paper a great one two punch. Cortland Sutton and rookie wide receiver Jerry Juedy create a nice combination of size and speed on the outside. Don’t forget Denver also drafted Penn State speedster wide receiver K.J. Hamler. Of course, this does not matter if Lock cannot spread the ball out effectively. I think he can and will. This game turns into a shootout. Diggs and Sutton go back and forth with a TD each. The difference between the winner and loser is the better QB. On this day is Josh Allen. He makes crucial plays on 3rd downs that only he can make. Ends up with 314 yards through the air with 3 touchdowns, and the game clinching 6-yard run for another TD on the ground. Bills win. 41-38. Buffalo Record 10-4.

· Week 16. Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots (MNF)

Stidham struggling to win games, and with Patriots not openly trying to lose for Trevor Lawrence, they put in back up Brian Hoyer. Which is not really an upgrade. The Savvy vet, who has been on dam near every team, at least knows the offense. However, he’s just not good. The Buffalo defense makes easy work of this challenge, forcing 3 turnovers and defensive TD. Josh Allen finally gets a few via the passing game against the Patriots. With Knox catching a pair, and Diggs with 46-yard bomb for a TD. Buffalo Wins 31-6 and sweeps New England for 1st time since 1999. Buffalo Record 11-4

· Week 17- Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills

Buffalo has clinched a playoff spot, resting their starters. Fitzmagic flames out to nobodies’ surprise, and Miami is forced to rush in Tua. The Buffalo defense makes him look like who he is, a rookie. Tua scrambles for 50 yards but cannot get anything going through the air. Although Shaq Lawson had a sack, he didn’t have much impact on the game. Barkley goes 19 for 27 with 224 and 2 touchdowns. T.J Yeldon and Gabriel Davis score the Bills only touchdowns.Buffalo wins 14 to 10.

Buffalo Regular Season Record 12-4. Don’t @ me.
