Betting Overview for Championship Sunday

By: Buffalo Sports Chatter Kass

All lines are from The Score Sportsbook and remember to gamble responsibly. Never bet more than you can lose. Now let’s talk sports and make some money.

NFC Championship Game: Packers -3.5 O/U 51

The NFC Championship game opened at Packers -4 but, quickly dropped half a point. This tells me that the public liked Tampa Bay early and, if you give it thought, it makes sense. Tampa Bay was the last game of Divisional Weekend and absolutely dominated New Orleans in the second half. Tom Brady had just punched his ticket to his 14th Conference Championship game and looked great doing it. This made for a quick public hammer of Tampa Bay. But here’s the thing, Green Bay is a wagon and the books are always making money off of Joe Public. Rodgers will most likely be the MVP this season and has never looked better in his career. In addition to Green Bay’s potent pass attack, Aaron Jones and the offensive line has been hitting their stride in the run game. Green Bay is 11-6 ATS this season and 3-0 against the spread in their last three games. Tampa Bay is 10-8 ATS and 2-1 in their last three games but with one win coming from a tanking Atlanta Falcons and one loss from the Taylor Heinicke led Washington Football Team. In summary, the Packers are a wagon and the Buccaneers are average at best ATS this season. Take the Packers -3.5 and enjoy Brady losing.

AFC Championship Game: Chiefs -3 O/U 54

This game is tough. Mahomes is still currently in concussion protocol and nothing has been confirmed about his status for Sunday night. Mahomes was limited in practice but took the majority of snaps on Thursday. However, despite the concussion and turf toe, it is my opinion that he will play. The line opened at Chiefs -3 and has not moved which tells me that people are very hesitant to place their bets with Mahomes availability still being uncertain. If you like the Chiefs take them now because once Mahomes is confirmed to play the line will likely move to -4 or -5 by kickoff. If you’re a Bills bettor, wait until an hour or two before kick off to get as much value as you can. The O/U opened at 55 and dropped to 54 meaning Joe Public likes the Under in this game. Now, say it with me, Joe Public loves making Vegas money. 54 points may seem like a lot, but the Chiefs rank 6th in PPG while the Bills rand 2nd. The Chiefs are 4-4 on the over at home while the bills are 6-2 on the over in away games. Meaning the numbers are in favor of the over and if you are still having doubts remember this, life is too short to bet the under. Take the over and enjoy your Sunday.
