I know a lot of sabres fans are calling for Jack Eichel to be traded and even trying to come up with "fair" offers. I don't believe we need to trade our best player on the team ... yet cause he's not the problem. I do believe we need to send him and the team a message that they need to step up their games cause what we're seeing is not acceptable for anyone.
What I think we should do is strip him of his Captaincy. He's a great player but seriously lacks as a leader and honestly there's nothing wrong with that. Patrick Kane is a great example of an amazing player that just isn't a good leader and never wore the C despite being the best player on his team. This year I haven't seen a post game interview with Eichel but I have seen plenty with Taylor Hall and Sam Reinhart. Why is that do you think? I think it's because they're afraid of what he's going to say. I remember interviews last year where he threw the defense under the bus and that's not a leader or a captain. What I think they should do is give the C to Hall for the rest of the year and maybe Jack will play better without the responsibility or maybe even learn what a leader should be cause he's not it right now. I think we'd all settle for our best player playing more like Patrick Kane and if that means he's not the captain anymore I don't see anything wrong with that.
